5 image captures, sketchup model, and crysis wars enviroment

http://www.russelllowe.com/arch1101_2011/index.htm

Complete by Sunday May 01, 9:00pm.

1. Apply a light, a medium and a dark texture to particularly significant rectangular prisms within your set of 10 (to do this you will have to reconstruct the chosen prisms as individual 'components' in SketchUp ... remembering that each component can have only one texture).

Note: Remember to set the 'component axes' of all components to the same point in SketchUp (do this when you create each component); this will greatly speed up realignment when in the Sandbox2 editor. In the Sandbox2 editor hit the 'select and move' button (number 1 on the keyboard) select your object then go Modify > Align/Snap > Align to Object ... then select the object you want to align the first object to. They will snap together perfectly. Jules Cromarty goes over this in more detail in a thread called "To import partly or multi textured axonometrics into game" on the class forum

2. Continue to develop the landform, massing model and detail elements through to final resolution.

3. Use 'Fraps' to capture five images from your Crysis Wars environment and upload them to your blog. We should be able to see your custom textures in at least 3 of the images. Write short comments (36 words max!) under 3 of the images to indicate how they relate to your "ElectroLiquid Aggregation" quote.

4. Upload your Crysis Wars Levels and Objects folders to your FileFront (or similar) user page and provide a link to them from your blog.

5. Upload your final version of the 10 rectangular prisms to Google Warehouse and provide a link to it from your blog.

My final model will be using the hypothesis:
The forces of Libido and Death blend into each other as our lives move through them.
explanation: the ring walkway represents life journey, the columns represents the elements of Libido and Death, and their merging is reflected on the U shaped addition. the covered walkway still defines Death, while the open walkway still defines Libido

7 additions, 3 subtractions

the model is situated on a deserted island, with the back of the model facing a large cliff. the cliff complements the enclosed part of the structure, and keeps light from entering the back, as that back reperesents primarily Death elements.
the front of the model is half out in the water, as i intend to make an "openess" atmosphere of the front of the model, and it complements the primary Libido elements of the front.

A view from the back of the model showing 3 columns that represent imagery of Death. the wall in the background represents the merging of elements from Libido and Death, with death being its primary element.

a view from the front, with the 3 columns with imagery representing Libido. the wall on the represents the merging of elements from Libido and Death, with Libido being its primary element.

a view of the back of the structure during nighttime. attention is paid to the imagery on the wall, but the darkness on the top hints at the concentration of Death elements.

a view of the front structure during nighttime, here the lighting arragement is reversed.
this distinguishes the front from the back, by its primary elements; the front being primarily Libido, and the back being primarily Death.

a final overall view of my model. The precedence is perhaps the coliseum and its columns. The landform confines the user’s attention to the model, while complementing the themes of Death and Libido.

36 textures, Light to Dark

since i will be using the hypothesis:
The forces of Libido and Death blend into each other as our lives move through them.

the 1st, 2nd 4th texture will represent Libido and the 3rd, 5th and 6th will represent Death.

Electroliquid Aggregation + axonometric drawing (combine 2 objects to make one from 10 prisms)

2. The mechanics of the psyche can be modelled by a system of interaction between Id, Ego, and Superego. (explanation: 3 platforms repersent the Id, Ego, Superego, and the central structure links them)
PLUS
1. Ob jects transfer energy between each other when connected by a medium. (explanation: it looks like a pendulum, which follows the hypothesis)
EQUALS

The system of Id, Ego, and Superego transfer energy between each other when connected by the mind.

explanation: the 3 ring platforms form the Id, Ego, Superego, while the central structure represents their mind which they are connected

5 additions, 5 substractions

4. Our lives are governed by a balance of 2 forces; Libido/Eros, and Death/Thanatos. (explanation: the ring walkway represents a life journey, the covered walkway part repersents death, while the open walkway part represents libido)
PLUS
5. Moving colours blend into each other. (explanation: the columns represent colors while the side walls represent their merging)
EQUALS

The forces of Libido and Death blend into each other as our lives move through them.

explanation: the ring walkway represents life journey, the columns represents the elements of Libido and Death, and their merging is reflected on the U shaped addition. the covered walkway still defines Death, while the open walkway still defines Libido

7 additions, 3 subtractions

6.If the speed of a cannonball is fast enough, it will never land, and be in orbit. (explanation: the long rectangular prism represent a firing line, the rectangular rings represent increasing velocity)
PLUS
3. The Witch of Agnesi never equals zero (explanation: 4 decreasing heights but not reaching the end)
EQUALS

A cannonball fired fast enough never reaches zero velocity and height.

Explanation: the two long rectangular prisms still represents the firing line, and the rectangular rings still represent the velocity, but has resemblance to "the witch never equals zero"

6 additions, 4 subtractions

6 axonometric construction methods

3 additions, 2 blue subtractions

4 additions, 1 subtraction

5 additions

2 additions, 3 subtractions

4 additions, 1 subtraction

3 addition, 2 subtraction

First, blue additions, then red subtractions.

6 axonometrics exploring the amalgamation of 5 rectangular prisms

2. Divide the pages of your notebook in half. If using an iPhone like
device use a full screen.
3. On the top part of each page draw a series of 6
axonometrics exploring the amalgamation of 5 rectangular prisms. Each
amalgamation should reflect a hypothesis from step 1.
The rectangular prisms
should intersect with each other at right angles. Use carefully hatched lines to
highlight one set of surfaces that exist in parallel planes. Some of the
rectangular prisms might be 'subtracted' from the others; you do not need to use
the same set of 5 rectangular prisms for your 6 drawings.
4. On the lower
part of each page draw a second series of 6 axonometrics that re-draw the first
series from the opposite point of view. Use carefully hatched lines to highlight
one set of surfaces that exist in parallel planes.

Hypothesis from top to bottom
1. Ob jects transfer energy between each other when connected by a medium. (explanation: it looks like a pendulum, which follows the hypothesis)

2. The mechanics of the psyche can be modelled by a system of interaction between Id, Ego, and Superego. (explanation: 3 platforms repersent the Id, Ego, Superego, and the central structure links them)
3. The Witch of Agnesi never equals zero (explanation: 4 decreasing heights but not reaching the end)

5. Moving colours blend into each other. (explanation: the columns represent colors while the side walls represent their merging)
6.If the speed of a cannonball is fast enough, it will never land, and be in orbit. (explanation: the long rectangular prism represent a firing line, the rectangular rings represent increasing velocity)

15 hypotheses

1. As a class group conduct some online research into the three clients. The aim of this research is to develop 5 hypotheses (about one sentence each) relating to each of the 3 clients. Your tutor will record the hypotheses on your class blog for your future reference. Take no more than an hour to do this step.

therefore, we need a total of 15 hypotheses from CLIENTS: Maria Agnesi, Sigmund Freud, Issac Newton.

Maria Agnesi

1. The Witch of Agnesi never equals zero

2. Woman can study maths just as men do.

3. Maths is fundamental in the education of Christian Youth

4. Women’s relationship with maths was never the same after her book.

5. If there is no evidence it cannot be proven as truth.

Sigmund Freud

1. Our psychosexuality changes vastly through diļ¬€erent stages of development

2. During dreaming, the mind is disconnected from reality and immersed in its own world.

3. The mechanics of the psyche can be modelled by a system of interaction between Id, Ego, and Superego.

4. Dream interpretation reveals the mechanics of the unconscious mind.

5. Our lives are governed by a balance of 2 forces; Libido/Eros, and Death/Thanatos.

Isaac Newton

1. If the speed of a cannonball is fast enough, it will never land, and be in orbit.

2. Light can be broken into colors by a triangular prism

3. Ob jects transfer energy between each other when connected by a medium.

4. Moving colours blend into each other.

5. If matter attracts matter; it must be in proportion of its quantity, therefore the apple draws the Earth, as well as the Earth draws the apple.
